Saraswati Kunj

Project- Saraswati Kunj

Typology- Conservation Design

Client- The Future Institute

Year- 2016

Location- Gurugram

The rapid urbanization of Gurugram has resulted in about 120-odd johads (ponds) either shrinking or vanishing. In collaboration with the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) and the Future Institute, we are working on the rejuvenation of these ponds to improve biodiversity by attracting birds and encouraging establishment of native vegetation, plants and trees.

The project is an endeavour to revitalise the ecological and socio-cultural capital of the city by preserving and resting these dying water resources and developing them as active spaces of recreation, learning and socialising.
